That NYC review

Posted on September 14th, 2009 @ 22:26 in Uncategorized

Er, no, of course I mean, that NYC report. Been dragging it out cuz it’s sorta difficult, but will (for now?) just write a straight out “what I did” entry. Cuz these are important for future reference and all. FYI if you hadn’t noticed, I’ve uploaded 40 pics to Flickr. More »

Google Insights is an interesting tool. It measures โ€™search intensityโ€™ – the number of searches being made for a certain term. More »

Brave little trooper

Posted on August 14th, 2009 @ 23:01 in Uncategorized

You know it’s odd how sometimes it still hits me – oh my God, MJ really is dead. Well, it’s not that odd. And yet it is. I mean I know by now, right?

Generally I’m still doing pretty good – and still healthy, and fitnessy. But I’ve recently had some moments of downness. Probably all hormone-related, as Katja would say. More »

It’s been a while

Posted on August 8th, 2009 @ 21:55 in Uncategorized

Don’t really get to update much these days. Lemme give you a quick overview of what’s been going on.

You may know that after I got back from Norway I had a Toma visiting for Pride. This was most amazing, he’s exceptionally lovely and wonderful. There are pics on Flickr. Pride itself was fun too, we didn’t get too wet, but we also left early. Like, only did the Parade and then went for a quick stroll through Preston Park and then caught a cab back, cuz we’re lazy.

What else did we do… went to the Marina twice, once by choo choo train, went shopping and bought loads of rubbish (well, I bought rubbish, Toma’s broke), watched Young, Dumb, and Living off Mum (oooh it is so great!), watched other rubbish, and were online. Also, because Toma is so very amazing, he gave me his Nintendo DS so I played with that loads. And bought more games for it. ๐Ÿ˜€ And am still playing it loads. ๐Ÿ˜›

His Loveliness left on Monday and I had a boring week at work. Well, partly very stressful, and partly quite boring in a “really don’t want to be here” way. I was glad when the week was over. I kinda want a new job, but I get those phases every few months, and new jobs are hard to come by in the current climate, and hard for me anyway.

I finally went to yoga again this week too, I was kinda not inspired at first and worried my whole healthy living drive had already come to an end (oh yeah, I also ate loads of rubbish while Toma was here), but I have found back into it thankfully. So been to yoga twice and going again tomorrow, and been cycling three times.

The cycling is going really well, I did 42km on Wednesday, 20km on Thursday, and 66km today. I’m pretty beat now, but all in all I really enjoyed it (there were some bits, esp. steep hills and towards the end where I was just so friggin’ tired, that were less fun) and I saw loads of cute places, most of which I hadn’t seen before. I went inland and just rode around lots of little villages. Very fun. Also saw a castle. And ate the most delicious blackberries.

I hope I can keep this going. I also went swimming on Thursday during my lunchbreak, and went for a quick “cooling off” paddle after my bike ride today. I love the sea. ๐Ÿ™‚ Am also still (well, again) eating healthily, oh and I’ve started on my secret project again too! Gosh, all those THINGS I’m doing! It’s great! ๐Ÿ˜€

Going forward… I am excited about NYC of course, not so long to go now, and I must start planning all the stuff I wanna see soon. And I’m going to Germany in October – Mainz for Katja and Tobias, Cologne for Anna, and to Frankfurt to meet work people. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep that’s pretty much it – just a quick update on my life. Hope you’re all good!!!

Home alone

Posted on July 26th, 2009 @ 17:04 in Uncategorized

They have gone to walk the dogs. I cannot walk dogs cuz I need to rest my foot. I did however go for a bike ride earlier, 14km, 40mins, which was very nice, if exhausting (uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill…), and Mon’s saddle is very uncomfortable (even worse than the one that came with my bike). Her gears are heaven tho, I wish mine worked that well. More »

Immobilized – README.TXT!

Posted on July 17th, 2009 @ 23:45 in Uncategorized

Ironic. So just after I wrote the post three below this one about how great everything was, my left foot turned into complete agony and I am now an invalid. I’d actually tripped before I wrote the entry, but it was still fine then. I lay on the couch for ages and getting up – oomph! So basically I’ve torn or twisted or God-knows-what something, so I’ve been home all day, in bed or on the couch, and I expect to be home in bed or on the couch tomorrow and Sunday as well.

When you’re immobilized you get mopey, so earlier I had a good cry about Michael again after re-reading the Maya Angelou poem. But it was a “good” cry. I am sad, but I am hopeful. And so I felt ready to finish or post those MJ entries I’d started during the bad days. One I’ve left as is, it’s just basically full of sadness, and the other one is “my MJ story” which was only two thirds written and I completed tonight.
