A Beautiful Hello

Posted on November 16th, 2008 @ 19:58 in Uncategorized

I write to you from pretty Paris. What a nice alliteration! I am sitting on a terrace on Ile St Louis, looking towards the Hôtel de Ville, and reading Newsweek’s special commemorative Obama edition. Obama’s pretty too, but in a different way than Paris. 😛

I have so far had a most pleasant time, but I shall write about that upon my return. Right now I just wanted to do a “here I am” entry (cuz I can, you know, having an iPhone ‘n’ all).

An arguing British couple just walked past. He was pretty loud. He kept saying “you did not…”, but I could not make out what she did not do.

Now I have ordered a Croque Madame. Maybe I will go back to gushing over Obama. Tho maybe I should not let him distract me from the beauty of Paris? I managed to get my mum to try the bikes btw! She was a bit hesitant at first you see, but I’ve won her over. She even said she’d exercise in Lux so she gets better next time.
And I’m not as sore as I was last time! 😀

I must come back soon. But to start with I have another day tomorrow. 🙂 Rejoice with me!
Goodnight!!!!!

Another weekend gone…

O hai! 😀 So as you can see I have a new theme on this here blog. I have a feeling a lot of people are going to dislike it, as it’s quite… bright and in-your-face. I’m not yet sure if I like it myself, but I was seriously fed up with the old one. And I wanted something with a graphic header that I can change if so desired. More »

He taught me HOPE

Posted on November 4th, 2008 @ 22:50 in Uncategorized

Wow. Lemme try to finally write that Obama post I’ve been meaning to write for ages (the draft I’ve just found is 2 months old exactly). Trying to quickly squeeze it in before I’m off to a scary election party, and we’ll hopefully know before the end of it, and then off to bed and I’ll definitely know when I wake up tomorrow.

I have been SO fascinated by this election for the past few months, and it’s been an incredible experience. I hadn’t ever been truly interested in a US election before – if I was, it was mainly because I’d (obviously) always want the Democrats to win, and/or because I wanted the Republican moron to lose.

But this time I’ve been really invested. It matters not just because Obama is the lesser of two evils, but because I really believe in what he stands for, and what electing him stands for for the American people. This goes way beyond the purely practical “well Obama would definitely be the wiser choice for the world at large”.

All the clichés that have been rehashed during his campaign actually resonate with me, despite my traditionally cynical leanings. The Audacity of Hope, Change We Can Believe In, Yes We Can… I can feel them. And I can relate to the American people feeling them, and it makes me immensely excited and emotional. This is HUGE!

So ja that was my last minute gushing entry, now I must get ready and be off, Obama FTW and all that!!!! (oh he better win or else…!!)

They need to do way instain mother!??!!?

Posted on October 8th, 2008 @ 23:29 in Uncategorized

What does it meeeaaaan????

For those of you unfamiliar with the flash video: how is babby formed. Most of it you can understand despite the spelling mistakes. But I have no idea what “they need to do way instain mother” is supposed to mean.

Googling it is near impossible as you just get hundreds of quotes. The only attempt at an explanation I found here:

what the hell does instain mean?

stay in
I think.
I’m not sure though

But that doesn’t make much sense either. They need to do way stay in mother?

So um, any suggestions? I know, I have too much time on my hands. And yes, some sort of proper entry some time soon.
