Paris repooort…

Sooo I am back from Paris and here’s the inevitable report for my collection (incidentally I should search for all the old entries and make a general link page).

First off, it was very nice – as always. 😡 I was glad to find out Charlie hasn’t managed to destroy this for me. 😀 (I was a bit scared as you may know). The weather was pleasant too, not too cold at all, and only a little bit of rain one morning. My mum and I didn’t fight either. It was very very very crowded tho. Bloody tourists. *lol* More »

And I’m still alive, like.

But too lazy to write much. Plus I need to pack. Tomorrow I’m first off to London to see Mel in her new play with squiZZ, then maybe take some pics of his hamsters, then onwards via Heathrow to Paris on Friday for a long weekend of debauchery cultural entertainment with my mum.

Things with my new flat are fiiiinally moving, albeit very slowly. Hopefully it will be mine by the end of next month tho. Jana and I went there on Saturday to take measurements for a floor plan, and also pics, so I may share those with you upon my return (I did plan to do that tonight but as I said… lazy. maybe if there’s time left once I’m done packing…).

Also I’ve booked time off work and a flight to go see my MAP and her little dog (and maybe her Jimmy?) at the end of November. Not seen her them in over a year. 😮 Aaand with some luck the lovely Thomas will come see me at some point too! Well, with a lot of luck, knowing his reliability. 😐

JK Rowling outs Dumbledore as gay

Now!? Seems…. weird and… late and… weird. If I believe her that in her mind he has always been gay (and she’s not just made this up ‘posthumously’ as an – admittedly very clever – marketing gag) then why didn’t she tell us? Why wasn’t it part of the plot?

No doubt some people will now reread the whole series in light of this “new revelation” and maybe even find clues (I’m tempted to at least read the Grindelwald passages again), but I don’t know…. I’m with gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell:

But I am disappointed that she did not make Dumbledore’s sexuality explicit in the Harry Potter book. Making it obvious would have sent a much more powerful message of understanding and acceptance.

This all seems rather lame. Isn’t she mainly serving her own cause? But maybe I am too  jaded lol. YAY FAGS!

Really. If you think about it. (we were entirely aware of this when we decided to buy, so we’re not surprised, and I know this is – as of yet – only speculation and maybes…. but I so know this is going to happen, I just know. And the only satisfaction I will get out of it is being proven right in that our pessimism was not unfounded. *lol*)
