Realname has overtaken Clarissa…

… so about 2 weeks ago or so I finally caved in and created a Facebook profile for my real name – mainly because I was under pressure from Antje at work who didn’t think it was fair I could spy on her profile (cuz Clarissa is in the Brighton & Hove network) when she couldn’t on mine (cuz she had no idea who I was).

So I created Realname, and added work people, and also moved all my other “real life” people to that profile (that is, even the ones who know I am Clarissa, as long as they were people I met in real life). So now Realname has 28 friends and Clarissa has 26. Makes you think (well makes me think anyway. a little at least).

The freakiest thing that has happened to me on the Realname profile was this… a few days ago a friend I went to school with about 18yrs ago (and whom I found in Val’s friends list) added a guy who I suspected to be the brother of my very first best friend from (argh it pains me to say it) 25yrs ago. Even freakier tho was that this guy (2yrs older than I am) is ‘friends’ with one of the kids I taught. It’s a small world. Well, a small Luxembourg at any rate. Stiflingly small.

Change of topic.

On Saturday I spent over £100 in around 10mins, even tho I’m kinda broke already. Yay for credit cards. So I bought all of the following

and then I came home and started watching Six Feet Under, and also on Sunday, and I also read Their Eyes Were Watching God which is one of the many books I studied at uni but never actually read, haha. It was ok. Zora Neale Hurston is a weird name, I keep thinking it should be Nora Zeale Hurston, which it could be. She died in obscurity working as a chambermaid in Florida, poor thing. The foreword by Zadie Smith reminded me that I still haven’t read On Beauty so I considered getting that too but it didn’t get very good reviews, so maybe not.

Two hours til Have I Got News For You so I don’t know if I should stay up to watch it, esp. as I start at 7 tomorrow. And on Wednesday. And on Thursday. But then I’m going to Norway. 😀

I went to bed really early last night (around 8ish) and had horrible nightmares yet again, about people being in my flat and me panicking. It was weird, dreaming I was in bed when I actually was in bed. Meh. I wish the nightmares would end.

I think that will be enough update for now. Oh, I’ve added a list of my Paris trips but I doubt any of you will care. *lol*

Their Eyes Were Watching God is one of my favorite books. I got assigned it taking a Women’s Literature Class at University and ended up revisting it over and over again. I want RealName! And I’ll try my best not to be cranky on Saturday night/Sunday. Yep, it’s a tough task.

You better not be 😐

I really didn’t find it that amazing. Cute, sure, but the greatest love story ever written? And the constant Southern drawl made it kinda hard for me to get into it cuz I can’t quite imitate the accent in my head but I also can’t completely ignore it when it’s written like that.
