Super great Moselle bike trip
Tristan and I went for a three day bike ride along the Moselle to Koblenz and it was amazing. I used to blog all my travels here! I should at least do that. Though to be honest, it may be easier to just link to my Twitter threads and Instagram posts (isn’t today’s reliance on social media annoying). I will add a tl;dr little at the end.
- Day one: Twitter thread, Instagram post and night.
- Day two: Twitter thread, Instagram post.
- Day three: Twitter thread, Instagram post and Burg Eltz.
TL;DR: It was amaaaazing. I already said that, though with fewer ‘a’s. I don’t know why I was surprised. I wasn’t really; I knew I’d enjoy it cuz Tristan day trips are the best and this was just an extended version of that, but also, cycling is such a great way to discover new places and interact with the world. This should also not surprise me. I guess it just reinforced it. And, you know, it’s so close, but still such a nice change of scenery, and everyone was so lovely. And cycling is just the best, and I have the best bike(s).
We were also very lucky with the weather. I’m sure I would’ve been grumpier if it had rained the whole time. But this was so great, and just the right mix of planned and spontaneous (all planning done by Tristan. š³ I did have a terrible migraine before we left!), and Tristan is the perfect travel buddy. You know how much I love travelling alone so I don’t have to compromise about stuff, but I never had that feeling here. I’d go anywhere with him š (tho I was glad he didn’t insist on the guided tour at Burg Eltz š ).
Haha, I just looked up my previous bike trip to Portsmouth (I didn’t blog the South Downs Way, boo) and I ended it with “Next summer Iām totally doing Europe by bike! š” In 2013! š¤£ Well. ONE day it’s gonna happen! Now I can drag Tristan! š„° š
