I am obsessed with my music collection / iTunes / last.fm (the latter especially) and found this in my archives, so decided to do it again. The previous answers (Nov 2005) in brackets.

How many songs: 7623 (1433)

Sort by song title.
First Song: Adeste Fideles – Fayrouz (2Bad – Michael Jackson) – hm, apparently iTunes used to sort numbers first
Last Song: 99 Luftballons (Zuhälter – Wir sind Helden)

Sort by time.
Shortest Song: Yeah – Queen 0:04 (Tie between Paul (skit) – Eminem and Interlude: Sad – Janet Jackson (both 0:10))
Longest Song: Charpentier’s Te Deum – hasn’t changed: (MJ’s Oxford Speech (46:10). Doesn’t count? Ok. Charpentier’s Te Deum then (26:38))

Sort by album.
First Album: Abbey Road – The Beatles (3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life of.. – Arrested Development)
Last Album: 8 Miles Soundtrack (Ziggy Stardust – David Bowie)

Top five most played songs. [NB this is pretty recent, since got new Windows not so long ago and rebuilt my library]

How many songs come up when you search for “death”: 15 but most of those are one album title (1)

How many songs come up when you search for “love”: 350 – geez! (42)

How many songs come up when you search for “you”: 773 (137)
