Houses, holidays and other hopefuls

So here’s that update. I have a draft at work actually but that’s no use to me now, so I’ll have to start afresh I guess. First off, as you can see, there is a new layout, and it is not green. Do you like my Flames of Wisdom? I hope they will enrich your lives.

As you know I have been looking into moving. I’ve been to see a few places, three to be exact. None have yielded anything, tho one was really exciting. The flat was just down the road from here, literally one minute from mine. On Marine Parade, with sea view, and sharing with two luuurvely gay guys (well one was a bit freaky, but the other one was really cute). The room was nice and big and clean – all too perfect to be true. And so it didn’t come true, cuz the bitch who was gonna move out changed her mind. Basically she’d had a fight with one of the guys and given her notice in a hissy fit. Then once she’d calmed down she decided to stay. 8-|

The other two places… well one was with a musician, who was rather annoying, and the room was tiny and manky. The other was with a lovely couple (and a cat called Charlie), but also too small unfortunately. I say unfortunately, but to be honest all that househunting has made me appreciate my little pad more again. Even while I thought I might get the amazing room on Marine Parade it made me kinda sad to leave my Darryl behind… so if I don’t find anywhere I won’t be all that bummed.

On the holiday front, NYC has been booked. Of course that couldn’t be straightforward either. After my mum had finally sorted out her stuff and got her flight I went online to book mine.. and the rate had gone up from £385 to £532. 😐 Neat innit? She’d got the cheaper rate still cuz she’d semi-reserved the flight a few days earlier. So of course much cursing and sighing ensued, but she finally resigned to pay that rate. Now the next step is booking a hotel, and I totally can’t face that at the moment. I hate making decisions like that. It’s much easier when you know you’ll just get the cheapest place that isn’t a complete dump. 😐

Paris is next week. Very excited about that. 😀 Nothing’s happened on the Mika front yet, I’m starting to think the whole competition thing was a joke / hoax, and of course by the time that’s over it will be too late to get tickets on Gumtree. 🙁 I have however booked my ticket for the Placebo festival, managed 2 days off work, so I’ll be going to Lux 4-8 July, and hopefully Charlie will join me there. Charlie who will also be arriving in the UK again rather soon – less than a month. *gasp*

That is all I believe. My days are largely uneventful – tho I am proud of the new layout, and I also wrote a stupid poem this morning. *lol* The Festival started today but I didn’t go out except to see that house and to buy Coke. Loads of people around tho. Work was ok this week btw. I shall be collecting overtime so I can take time off work later to do exciting things. 🙂

And now I will be off to bed to produce ZZZs.
