T-Mobile fucking suck! I hate T-Mobile! They broke my phone!
(and any possible variation thereof)
If you want to know what happened read this (short) entry. The exact same thing happened again with my latest Sony. (after my O2 number was transferred to the iPhone and I put my T-Mobile SIM from my very-old phone into my normal working phone. the phone I bought after it happened the first time!! that cost me £100 which I could’ve saved if T-Mobile’s SIM hadn’t broken my original one!!!)
It appears I never really told the rest of the saga on here when it happened in July… very short version: I of course went and complained at the T-Mobile store, and they of course said it was impossible that a SIM “broke” a mobile, they were not responsible, and they would certainly not fix or replace my mobile. (an independent repair store tried to “flash” (restore) it but failed) So I ended up just buying a replacement for £100 from some dodgy dealer. The replacement that the T-Mobile SIM has now also broken.
I COULD RANT FOR HOURS AND HOURS ABOUT HOW FUCKING ANGRY THIS MAKES ME, AND THAT I HAVE NEXT TO NO LEVERAGE TO GET THEM TO DO ANYTHING, AND ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO WILL BE A HUUUUGE HASSLE AND COST ME MUCH MORE IN MONEY AND TIME THAN YET AGAIN GIVING IN AND BUYING A NEW PHONE, but on the other hand I am so DAMN FUCKING ANNOYED that they can just get away with it yet again that I am considering anything and everything JUST TO FUCKING PISS THEM OFF AS MUCH AS THEY HAVE PISSED ME OFF. But I know I’ll just lose the energy in the end.
For now I’ll try to be systematic about this. At the moment I have a theory. It is true that the T-Mobile SIM as such does not break a Sony phone (for I now have, and always have had, it in my very-old-no-battery phone and this has always worked). It is also true that I have previously, repeatedly, switched various SIM cards – Lux, UK, incl. T-Mobile – around on my various phones and never had an issue (bear in mind – this may well be relevant – that I started out as a one2one customer, so up until I lost my mobile last summer I still had that very old one2one SIM).
Then I bought a temporary o2 SIM after I’d lost my T-Mobile SIM. I used this in an old Sony k750i. Now o2 send you all sorts of settings / mods by SMS, and I wager the SIM itself also makes some “changes” to the phone (and we’re not just talking about MMS/internet settings). What I do now for sure is that I ended up with o2 shortcuts etc on my phone that I certainly didn’t put there.
Once I got my replacement T-Mobile SIM I put it in the phone – and whatever it is that that SIM wants to do to the phone – the phone got confused and decided to commit suicide. (it’s just not possible to turn it on. the k750i displays a white screen for about 1sec and then goes black. with the latest one – k800i – the screen remains dark but you can see the infrared light flashing. so it’s certainly not a power issue.) I accuse the T-Mobile SIM rather than the o2 SIM because my Lux SIM did not have the same effect when I switched it in Paris or Mainz.
Thus my theory. I may be wrong of course but come on – the exact same thing happens twice under the exact same circumstances – you won’t tell me it was a freak coincidence!? I mean my explanation may be wrong, but the cause was with 90% certainty that blasted T-Mobile SIM card!!!!! Oh and just to stress (as apparently this was a bit unclear) that these were not locked phones. The first one was an unbranded phone (never tied to any network) and the second one was an unlocked vodafone one.
And that fucking little twerp Nick (the guy I spoke to at the Brighton T-Mobile store today) has the fucking nerve of opening the first mobile and saying “well that one broke because the battery got wet, cuz look, this little ink pad is pink which happens when the battery gets wet!” – FUCK YOU YOU ARSEHOLE, THAT MOBILE BROKE SIX FUCKING MONTHS AGO, SO WHO CARES IF THE BATTERY MAY HAVE GOT WET SINCE, OR BEFORE, OR WHATEVER THE FUCK, STOP TAKING ME FOR A COMPLETE IDIOT OR WORSE, CALLING ME A FUCKING LIAR!!!!!!!!
It’s things like that that make me so fucking mad – you’d have to get every interaction you have with people like that in writing to stand a fucking chance against their smarmy lies and excuses!!! When I went to complain the first time round no one “noticed” the pink pad and blamed it on that!! But ooooh, now that’s too fucking convenient, cuz whatever it is let’s blame it on the customer – let’s not be held accountable by any means!!!! Stupid little consumers, don’t have a chance against our big corporate machine anyway.
But I KNOW THEIR SIM BROKE MY MOBILES. TWICE. I JUST KNOW I KNOW I KNOW, THERE IS NO OTHER FUCKING WAY, IT WASN’T THE AIR IN MY FLAT WHEN I SWAPPED THE SIM (TWICE!), AND IT WASN’T THAT EACH MOBILE CHOSE THAT VERY MOMENT TO DIE – IT WAS THEM THEM THEM !!!!!!!!!! But I have next to no way of proving it, and I stand alone against a huge fucking corporation with hundreds of potential points of contact, each of which will just follow their FUCKING SCRIPTS because they know their jobs are safe, no one’s gonna fucking care about the money they lost me – twice – and the fact that I also lost all my contacts, text messages, photos and so on. Twice.
Okay. *deeeeep breath* Yeah so the next step would be to prove my theory. This could of course be done by replicating what happened in front of witnesses. (by wasting yet more money on a test phone of course!) Or to pay an independent expert to research or replicate it, and write a report saying that yes, indeed, he has found that under the given circumstances, the T-Mobile SIM fries an unlocked or unbranded (Sony) mobile that has been modified by an o2 SIM. Which I would then use… what, in court?
Cuz that’s the other thing that SUCKS in this fucking country!! Or in general with many network providers in many countries. They support only their own stupid branded phones. You can only BUY stupid branded phones to start with!!!! Which is oh so handy – it ties you to the stupid fucking provider, and they wash their hands clean of anything else. Of course you can unlock the phones – in dodgy backroad shops – but that voids any warranty and any liability of… well, anyone except you, the stupid customer.
In Lux, you buy a phone. You can buy it from your network provider if you wish, but it’s AN UNBRANDED, UNTIED MOBILE PHONE! Not an Orange phone or an o2 phone or a T-fucking-Mobile phone – no, it’s a Nokia or a Motorola or a Sony and that’s it! Nick-the-twerp didn’t even understand the concept!!!!! “So who did you buy this phone from, who was it with?” – “No one!! I bought it in a fucking shop!!” (the 1st one.)
GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR the more I think about it the more I realise how pointless it is, and the angrier I consequently get. They’re not gonna admit their SIM broke my mobile. Even if I did manage to prove it to them, they would say “well you used a non-T-Mobile phone with our SIM, this is not covered under our T&C, so technically what broke is your phone and tough shit.”
So for now I’ll end with a final cathartic rant that might get me a few hits from similarly frustrated T-Mobile customers, and then I’ll try to turn my attention elsewhere and relax.
T-MOBILE SUCKS! I HATE T-MOBILE! FUCK T-MOBILE!
There. Next up… the T-Mobile-hate-rant on Youtube. *lol*
