Tattoos II (and stuff)
Category: Randomness | 32 Comments | Posted 17:59OK so I've pretty much decided on my tattoo.. it's gonna be this bat (here's a new & better, tho not perfect version of it)
I'll probably do a few more of them before actually having it done. Must ring up friends now and ask them where they went and if they'd recommend it. Then must make appointment. *scared*
There's a bug stuck to my sellotape. It's still moving and unless I crush it, it will die a cruel, cruel death (starving? panicking? ripping out its little legs and bleeding to death? I do wonder). Anyway, serves it right for coming in here.

LOL sky blue - indeed!! Actually the main colour I chose by picking a colour from a picture of the sky 
LOL I just looked at the sky and realised that it's absolutely the same colour as the one of your site.

I'm not sure... it's probably just something wrong with the shading or the way you've colored it that makes the body look a bit strange. (but you said that's not the final version, so may not look strange at all when you finish it)

Hm @ Jarjar. Doesn't look wrong to me!? 
hmmm... had a look at many bat pics, and you're right, the body isn't too big. But I think I figured out what makes it look a bit strange. The bones in the wings are usually very visible, (like in this pic: http://www.rarespecies.org/kids/bat.jpg ) so I think you should re-do the shading, and maybe add some details to it's face, like the outlines of the nose and eyes.
MJ's autograph is WAY cool, so I think you should tattoo that.

Hm about bones. I know they are. But that makes it look uglier I think (tho can try).
And a face... hm. I didn't want detail at all. And if I add black eyes on black face, I'll have to give it nuances and reflection and all to make them visible. Too complicated.

Mir, cartoonish, no, not necessarily. Just simplified. I don't want a realistic representation. Just sth where you can tell it's a bat, and with the right colours.

Ah yes @ Jess. Sounds like a nice compromise. 
Ah right, I think it's just that the stomach isn't round enough and the upperbody/head is a bit too big compared to the rest of the animal.
Anyway, since I'm the only one who thinks it looks a bit strange, it's not really a big deal lol.
