This entry, my dear friends, is one of my procrastination entries...
... because what I should be doing is promote Jeff's book online. He is paying me to do so, and money is good. Also experience is good as for now I have not that many clues how to do it. So I must research first. Then get going. Then I'll get money. And money is... well you get the idea.
So check out the site and order the book! Ha, this entry is really my first act of promotion! The book really is funny tho! (the reason I'm using a redirect is that I don't want him to find this site in his referrers lol)
Shall I watch TV or listen to music? I think I'll opt for the TV since I don't have that at home. Let's see if I can find something that does not involve football. Ugh, the builders outside are sooo loud. squiZZ is at an interview btw in case you were wondering. (were you?) He is very marvellous. And he reminds me of MJ in his suit.
Yesterday we went shopping for a new playpen for the hamsters. Wanna see? (the pen, not the shopping)
Sorry, don't have a pic of the full thing. They're so cute, they're constantly trying to get out, climbing on top of each other etc.
Yeah so after that we went to Canary Wharf and had sandwiches in the sun. Wanna see?
Then we came home and squiZZ did grown up stuff and I didn't. And theeeen we went to get Tobias at Heathrow, wanna see?
Was veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long trip back on the tube cuz of the usual planned engineering works and we (Tobias and I) were very glad to have a squiZZ cuz we would've got soooooo lost (or would've had to think for ourselves) and this way we could just follow squi, who incidentally is very marvellous.
Then Tobias went to watch football and we went to Camden McDonalds and I ran out of credit on my phone. Yikes! I've spent like £10 in 2 days or sth.
Theeeen we came home and I chatted to Charlie until kinda late and the end. I love squiZZ? *hehe* Byebye!
There are free ways to put your own press release out, maybe you can do that. Or google "Jamie Leigh", then you'll discover all her ways she uses to promote herself. It's a good example though. Release a podcast, inform Amazon, make a deal with them, they also sell books of rarely known authors etc.

Posted by: Michelle on Mon June 12, 2006 at 16:40Thanks for your guidance. Press releases are his job, he's a PR consultant. And yeah I know about Amazon but he needs an ISBN number for that. Have asked him but he hasn't replied to that. But yeah I'll have a look at JL, tho the target audience (& what he wants from them) here is somewhat different. And many people hate JL - I kinda want to avoid that here (i.e no spamming).
Hmmmmmm @ podcast. Perhaps...
Posted by: Clarissa on Mon June 12, 2006 at 17:06Looking at JL just reveals websites where you can add information about the book or the author. You don't need to spam sites and annoy people. It's obvious that JL is overdoing it a bit, but she knows where to go at least.
You could also write positive reviews for book-pages or pages like www.blogcritics.org and such.
Posted by: Michelle on Mon June 12, 2006 at 19:20ja that was meant to be my main strategy. also book-forums and stuff. but I'm a bit paranoid that because it's self-published it will be all too obvious that it's a PR move
maybe I should create a wikipedia page for him that would definitely get publicity, albeit baaaad hehe.
