I don't like how I'm so dependent on them.
Isn't it odd how my most valued possessions include digital data? At the end of the day everything is replaceable except meaningful presents from important people, and data (which effectively are memories - digicam pics, emails, chat archives...).
I've just tidied my flat and saw my Willy Wonka. He's great, I was super-excited when I found him, but if I lost him now I wouldn't bat an eyelid. So why do I even have him? Maybe I should get rid of him. And also that ridiculous lamp I have.
Also. When I got home on Monday night my Tommy wouldn't boot up. He gave me a scary error that indicated either hard drive or RAM problem. He'd worked fine at college just an hour earlier. My first thought was "waah my chat archives!!" (they're the only thing I have on there that I don't have on the desktop). Losing them would be a major tragedy!
Actually maybe it wouldn't and I should just get the fuck over my archiving-mania. Anyway my Tommy was broken and I was not happy. However he did start working again after half a dozen attempts at booting up and/or recovering from the Windows CD. So I quickly backed up my archives and calmed down. I have learned not to freak so much about PC problems anymore. Well, I guess it's easy to say when you have 2 1/2 PCs. *snigger*
Oh but I have good news too!
(1) I got my Clarissa DVDs on Monday and they're very fab. Tho it's weird to me to hear "Clarissa!!" all the time when it's not about me. *lol* But I still find her very fabulous and wanna be her and was not disappointed the way I was with My So-Called Life.
(2) I got an email from Creative that they have shipped the replacement for my Zen. Woo! I'm not sure why I'm so excited since I have the iPod for now but it makes me happy.
(3) Oh yeah! This is so fucking cool! So we're going to the Placebo concert in Birmingham on the 9th yes (Sunday)? And returning to London the same night yes? And I was gonna get like 3hrs of sleep on squi's floor then train it down to Brighton to make it to class on Monday morning. BUT! There's this Adobe Fully Loaded thing that they (tutors) have decided to go to - so they'll be coming up to London on the Monday! Which means everyone has to get up in the middle of the night to catch the train. Except me because I will be in London already!!! Isn't this fabulous?
Ok and now I've lost the plot so I'll go watch Sarafina or Dirty Dancing.
Dirty Dancing
Posted by: Tay on Wed March 22, 2006 at 21:46Ja, am. Thought of you actually.
Posted by: Clarissa on Wed March 22, 2006 at 21:47Hehe @ the archiving mania.
Posted by: Michelle on Wed March 22, 2006 at 22:49Scurred?
Posted by: Clarissa on Wed March 22, 2006 at 23:20Nope, but you've always archived all your stuff. It's funny to me, since I'm the kind of person that deletes everything right away.
Why the heck have you closed your blog again BTW?
Posted by: Michelle on Thu March 23, 2006 at 1:49So we can all take a breath
Posted by: Clarissa on Thu March 23, 2006 at 10:20It will be back tonight probably.
Or whenever I feel like updating again - so really it makes no difference, esp. since you know where to find everything anyway.
Posted by: Clarissa on Thu March 23, 2006 at 11:09Hehe, back it is!!!
You're still breathing now?
Posted by: Michelle on Thu March 23, 2006 at 18:36I am Zen
Posted by: Clarissa on Thu March 23, 2006 at 18:44Are you avoiding me?
Posted by: Tay on Thu March 23, 2006 at 19:35Well... not as such. Only on messengers.
I sent you another letter today tho!
Why were you disappointed by My So-called Life? (Have I asked before? )
I don't really like watching or reading things now that I used to love, because it's so...different often, and I wanna remember all the good-ness. Especially like... things from a really long time ago, like...children's books or programmes that I used to find really exciting or fun, as I'm bound to have changed my taste a little since I was 10.
Yeah and that's exactly why I was disappointed with MSCL. (dunno if you've asked before) I used to totally identify with them and their problems when I first watched it (cuz I was their age) and now I find them silly and petty.
I know you'll say that's normal since I've grown up, but I didn't expect it to be quite so dramatic. Like, now I go over Angela & Jordan when I used to find them so deep and intense. *lol* Claudia and Ann-Louise said the same thing.
coming to Brum hey! cool.
Posted by: shaziak on Fri March 24, 2006 at 22:05Yeah! I'd say let's meet up but we'll be heading straight to the concert queue. You could come see us there?
Posted by: Clarissa on Fri March 24, 2006 at 22:08Why not the same thing with Clarissa though? Because it's comedy? (Or isn't it? ) And you still like BH 91210?
Posted by: JarJar on Sat March 25, 2006 at 7:45It is less "deep" and not so pretentious (and yeah I guess that's because it's comedy).
The main reason I still like(d) BH90210 is cuz I fancy Jennie Garth. (and I haven't seen that in years - maybe I should buy all of that on DVD too )
