on so many levels. :D

I should be studying this weekend because I have not done anything all week cuz I couldn't be bothered. But I don't wanna. So I gladly agreed to a squiZZvisit instead. :D

So now I should be doing the dishes and other flatcleaning activities in preparation for squiZZarrival. But I don't wanna. So instead I am writing a pointless entry. :))

I don't unfortunately have anything much to say in the entry - which is why it's been delayed for so long. I do find that time goes rather fast these days tho - this is week 7 of college already. I'm in two minds about that. It's good when time goes fast, cuz it's a sign that life is not horribly boring and dragging on and so on. But it's also bad because it means that the scary time after the course will come around faster (ok it won't actually, but I will perceive it that way anyway).

That's it! I'm already out of things to say!!! This is ridiculous. I do sometimes come across topics I wanna write about but they never get very far. These have included:

And that's it. :D Now I'll go and clean the flat.

People say...

"my current blog title - I don't discriminate. I hate everyone equally." Huh? Where?

I was gonna ask you about that actually, "that" being... I heard on the news that someone...in one of those countries were gonna have some sort of drawing thing-thing (dunno if it was a contest or just... illustrations for whatever) and make caricatures of jews in concentration camps to test "us" and see if we REALLY mean this freedom of speech stuff or if we too would be offended by something like that. Since you were so keen on writing about this in the first place and clearly have strong opinions about it, what do you think about that?

At the very top in the title bar.

Well . . . let me just say this about that oO( ) oO(I heart Party Monster) It's only a fucking cartoon, people should get over themselves and start laughing more.

I don't get the Party Monster reference but no doubt JarJar does.

Anyway. I don't know what it is you heard about - the only thing I read about was a Jewish journalist encouraging other Jews to do antisemitic cartoons to show they were able to laugh about themselves.

But anyway. If someone in a muslim country (I assume?? - where else) did just that - what you just said - my reaction (my outrage) would be motivated thus: what happened to the Jews during the Third Reich was real, and it was horrible, people suffered unspeakable monstrosities and millions died and it's very much unaccepted to make fun of that.
Of course we, in the West, are gonna be more sensitive to that because we're the ones who perpetrated it, and we grew up with it, and how horrible it is (and antisemitism is very much accepted in the muslim world, and very much not so in the West - tho of course it's still very much alive here too).
But the point is we are talking about very real atrocities, whereas making fun of Mohammed, to me (as an atheist, and that will always be how I see this whole thing) is just... nothing. And getting so fucking worked up about it is ridiculous. He's just some guy who lived hundreds of years ago and he got all he wanted and they should all just get the fuck over it

*ahem* Seriously tho. It's not the same thing

Clarissa Web - Crazy Clarissa Carim

The point was, they claimed it was not real, that it never happened, so to them it's just as nothing as mocking a God who doesn't exist is to you.

ANd yes fine if people should just get over themselves, but then that must go for you and your opinions too
(And I KNOW they are screwed up and you're not (well relatively not ), but if we just ignore that.)

I think Michael is not more troubled than anyone else - who's gone through this or that mess - probably is. And not everyone who has plastic surgery is deeply troubled right away anyway. Some people are nuts even though they have no bad childhood to share to base their ish on. But I'm pretty sure your tutor has no clue about the Vitiligo-thing. Maybe you could have asked whether he knows about it, to get to the point of what he really finds bothering about MJ's look.

Selective memory is not bad. I like it nowadays. It's pointless to dig up old stories. Life goes on.

About the title confusion:
@JarJar: Dont't use http://www.clarissaweb.co.uk/ to visit this site, use http://www.myowndamn.biz/blog/.

I don't discriminate. I hate everyone equally

LOL. I love it. Can I steal it off you and use it on all the people who piss me off but won't leave me alone, and, also, everyone else? Excellent.

lol @ the title thing.

Holocaust deniers should be flogged and killed.
On a more "serious" level - holocaust denial equates ignorance (it's not possible to prove to someone that God exists or doesn't exist - but it is very possible to prove the existence of the Holocaust) so in a perfect world that would be remedied. In the real world of course that doesn't always happen but my argument remains the same - making fun of the Holocaust is NOT the same thing as making fun of Mohammed.

@ Michelle -
yeah there will of course be people who have issues on the same level as MJ, even celebrities, but I still think of him as quite extreme.
And no I know not everyone who has plastic surgery has issues, but Michael has had it hundreds of times over 25 years.

And yeah it was obvious Jeff doesn't know about the vitiligo, but he used to work in the music industry so it would be particularly hard to convince him cuz he'd be all "oh please I know it all". And it is difficult to convince people of this stuff. Other than the skin colour there is still the "making the nose very slim = unblack" and the hair so... it all makes sense in their head. lol but I'm sure you know that

And ja I know @ selective memory. It's there for a reason of course. But it troubles me at times.

No to you it's not the same, but...
ugh never mind you're not answering my question.

I don't think MJ has such big issues. He's probably hurt and all, but his behavior makes sense at the end of the day. I'd worry more about some of his haters who don't make sense. I think people underestimate his sanity, that's why they're hurt when he kicks their butt.

Posted by: Michelle on Sat February 25, 2006 at 18:14

If he doesn't have big issues, I must say I like him less. A lot of the freaky things he does/says can be understood/explained/accepted if it's because he's messed up... if he's not, he's just... more stupid and/or less likable.

Posted by: JarJar on Sat February 25, 2006 at 20:01

Hehe, you can look at it from that perspective, too. Though I must say, I've never daydreamt of him as a perfect human being that only has some issues to deal with. I think he can be quite opinionated and rough on people, and I think he sometimes just does what he wants to do, because he can. Though of course he's also hurt, but I don't see him mainly as that psychologically wrecked person. In my eyes he's quite strong. And I actually could imagine some people would like him less if they got to know him closer. But I like him even thinking that he's not the way he is just because he's screwed up. That's also why I wasn't really shocked about some of the revelations about him last year. To me it just confirmed that he's a human being that has a life, not just a past.

humz maybe i must visit MJ boards more often.. *sighs*

Posted by: Dudie on Sun February 26, 2006 at 19:51

Hm yes I tend to agree with Mon. Of course MJ has issues - is there any other way you can justify his neverending cosmetic surgery and the very... unusual relationship he has with his fans or, well, anyone else close to him?

Posted by: Clarissa on Sun February 26, 2006 at 22:37

Hm well I did think of him as a perfect person when I was younger. And if he said he'd only done his nose twice, well then he had done his nose only twice. And of course my biggest dream was to become his friend. Today I realise it's very likely I wouldn't like him that much if I actually got to know him. I also understand that everything that comes out of his mouth isn't true.

But all of this doesn't really have anything to do with whether he's fucked up or not. And being fucked up doesn't equal weak and unable to defend oneself.

I don't know which revelations you're talking about, but if you mean drinking and reading porn magazines lol ... THAT just proves he's normal not fucked up. Maybe you were talking about something else.
