What an exciting update!
Sat, Jan 21 2006 @ 23:04   //   Category: Life & Me   //   16 comments

Yada yada, everyone always demands updates. But nothing much really happens in my life so I have nothing to update about. Well, you shall read about boring things. You asked for it, people!

The week went really fast. Woo for college, boo for work! I had mainly fun, tho the advertisting guy can be a bit boring. He's cute tho so I feel bad about calling him boring. The PR guy is more interesting but also more annoying. :)) I'm still in love with all the graphic design classes, except Web Design cuz so far I think I know more than the tutor. But she's cute too.

Last night I went out for a drink with Ann-Louise. I'd missed loads of interesting work gossip!!! So Hedi, the most recent recruit, has been fired for sexual harassment!! Seeee we ("we" being Ann-Louise and I) said from the beginning he was a bit weird and creepy. Apparently he grabbed Kirsty's thong when she leaned forward (and said later "I didn't know what it was" =))) and he told Brooke "I like girls like you, you're easy to convince". :o :)) So off he went.

Aaand Alison HR person seems to have disappeared too!!! No one has said why, but the rumours flying around suggest it may be because of her many unsuccessful recruits lately.... they'd had to fire someone else a while back too... and this guy was relocated and all, so cost them loads of money. So yeah isn't all that fun? :D No idea who's gonna replace her, they're being managed out of Manchester now, with someone on site only every other week. How sucky.

So of course Ann-Louise and I had loads to talk about, and were later joined by James, her boyfriend. Unfortunately it all turned a bit unpleasant towards the end of the night... it all started out when I sent James a suggestive pic via bluetooth (basically I first sent him a Willy Wonka theme - he has the same phone as me - and then he complained, so I said ok I'll send you something nice too). So because A-L was quite drunk she complained and accused me of trying to "use their relationship to make a point" (namely that men suck and relationships don't work) and we had this looong discussion, with James being all "ugh I don't wanna be here, can you please stop" :)) and then eventually (now with James joining in) it turned into the usual "trying to convert me to relationship-thinking" (you know the "but how can you know you don't want it if you've not tried it, it's just cuz you've not found the right person yet, and love is so wonderful, if you've not wanted to move to the other end of the world for someone you've not been in love" yada yada. I've had it all before).

Yeah and then at the end of the night A-L got very sick lol. I didn't feel sick until this morning. :wh So ja that was an.. interesting night out. I was gonna blog about that in detail (also a recap of my cynical thoughts on relationships, which they of course found very unconvincing and offensive etc. cuz even if statistics show that the majority of relationships don't work, it don't matter cuz theirs is special lol. they didn't wanna hear about biochemistry either *lol*)... but well ja in the end I didn't cuz was very late when I got back and then there was still a Mon around to talk to so I did that instead.

Today was pretty much all spent in bed. I watched loads of Simpsons, also Monsieur Ibrahim et les Fleurs du Coran (was very nice), I read, slept and wasted time online. And got a call from my lovely and delectable boys. I did however go to the hairdresser to have my hair cut by a cute Scottish woman. Is more or less the same thing I had done last time I had it cut. Anyway, have a pic:

Also did some essential shopping. Town was full of people, I do not like so many people. Subway now have Coca-Cola instead of Pepsi (woo). And I got a stamp even tho I paid for my Sub with a stamp card. :D (this will mean nothing to most of you I know :))). Ah yes and tonight I downloaded the trial version of Paint Shop Pro X, it's great fun and has fab "makeover tools" (like a teeth whitener - it's sooo cool!!!). Mon says I shouldn't buy it tho since I should start working with Photoshop now. She has a point of course. I still don't have CS. Must start looking. If only I wasn't so lazy.

Tomorrow I will do stuff. I will read my notes from the past 2 weeks, and play around in PSP to decide on a final idea for my Project, and maybe write a poem for Katja if I'm inspired. Oh and possibly tidy my shelves too! :D Woah, that's a whole lotta plans for a single day! :|

On Tuesday squiZZ and I are going to try and get into the video shoot thingo for the next Placebo single. Am excited cuz it means seeing Brian again =P~, but also scared cuz being in the video is potentially embarrassing (as is not being allowed in the club for whatever reason). I even had a nightmare about having to do choreographed background dancing for U2 at the MTV Video Music Awards and making a fool of myself. :)) I'll miss Marketing for that on Tuesday afternoon, but it's with the boring guy anyway so that's ok. And I mean come on, it's Placebo!! (and squi! that should be a big deal too! but somehow... he's so close now so feels like less of a big deal. :-? but still cool of course :D)

Well that's pretty much it. I could show you a pretty pic of the Pavilion I took last night with my sexy William (the mobile), but it has scaffolding in it so isn't so pretty after all. But my William takes great pics. You can get a flash add-on for him btw!!! Might buy. Oh, and I got mail from Casio confirming they have received my Charlie. Still haven't called Creative about the Zen tho.

Um yes I'm done now.

People say...

Oh I like the new layout - flowers are pretty.

And LOVE the hair.

@ the thong-guy and your views on relationships, just cute. At least I hope life feels easier if you don't believe in love.

I also like the new piccie of you!

Thanks snow & Michelle

LOL @ cuteness of my views on relationships. They are not cute, they are cynical and twisted!

Posted by: Clarissa on Sun January 22, 2006 at 11:18

Nawww, they are cute.

Posted by: Michelle on Sun January 22, 2006 at 23:39

cynical and twisted is the best!
no, really, I'm sure I agree with you on the most part about relationships...or at least that it's annoying when people (specially couples) preach to you like they know All, and their way is Right. Ew.

"it's annoying when people (specially couples) preach to you like they know All, and their way is Right. Ew."

A-L and James say relationships work, WAM says they don't. Both parts preach like they know all and say their way is right. And isn't that what we all do? Defend our opinion?

Posted by: JarJar on Mon January 23, 2006 at 11:38

I think the difference is - at least in my case - that tho I am anti-relationships I don't actually try to convince people who are in one that they need to split up.
They however tell me that my life is missing something and that it's wrong to live the way I do.

Posted by: Clarissa on Mon January 23, 2006 at 19:18

But you must say something that provokes these discussion since you keep getting into them. I don't "do" relationships either, but people never tell me it's wrong to live the way I do.

Posted by: JarJar on Mon January 23, 2006 at 23:24

You barely speak to people.

Posted by: Clarissa on Mon January 23, 2006 at 23:28

Fair point jarjar.

Personally I'd never preach to someone about relationships, I know many people in long term relationships and it freaks me out but I never lecture them about it. And then there are some people that give you this look when you say you are single, like they pity you, even if you insist that you are happy with it they feel sorry for you because they think they know better....

Anyways, I guess there is a fine line between telling people what you believe and preaching, and it applies to everyone.

Posted by: snow on Tue January 24, 2006 at 0:09

WAM, you're right. When I'm at work or with other friends/people I never talk to them.

Posted by: JarJar on Tue January 24, 2006 at 0:53

Hahaha, how can you say you have nothing interesting to share? It's entertaining as ever LMAO@thong guy... next time I'll just palpate some guy's crotch and I'll go "oh, I didn't know what it was... " or slam a student on the head and say "sorry, just tried to kill a fly... "

Posted by: Val on Tue January 24, 2006 at 23:30

Well maybe you don't have longer discussions where that comes up then. And anyway it's not like I have to discuss this with people once a week.

LOL @ Val. Yeah but he did get sacked in the end, remember?

Posted by: Clarissa on Wed January 25, 2006 at 0:58

No of course I don't. I don't see why anyone should have to defend why they choose to live the way they do; those who live in relationships or those who don't.

How freaky, I took a pic of the Pavilion the night before you, hence current cam pic.

And, you got hair cut again? Didn't you just get it cut? Or was that the same time...

Posted by: The BML on Wed January 25, 2006 at 20:26

same time
