[update in honour of and demanded by Tommy]
I have returned from Luxembourg. I shall update until I drop dead. Well, I should really go to bed on time since I have my first day at college tomorrow and don't wanna turn up there all worn out... but right now I am not tired so whaddya want me to do?
Can I go chronologically? Nah, that would require too much concentration, and I am talking to like 4 people at the same time, so I'll just ramble without making much sense. I might throw in the odd photograph.
So in completely random order....
I ripped lots of CDs while I was there. All of Falco's albums and lots of classical stuff. I used RealPlayer. And as I ripped the last one I found out it was still set to its default setting, which was ripping them to RealAudio. A lot of good that does me. Well, I can listen to it on the PC at least. Maybe I'll find a converter. But I am annoyed. And it was purely down to my own stupidity.
I'll tell you something else that was down to my own stupidity! Missing my plane back!!!! Well, partly. Sort of. I arrived 30mins before departure cuz last time I arrived 45mins before departure and was bored for 40 of those minutes. But this time of course they decided to bloody board on time, so by the time I started queuing for check in they were already boarding, and by the time I'd sneaked my way to the front it was last call, and when I reached the desk (some stupid idiots were taking ages cuz they had a bloody cat and lots of questions about it!!!!) the flight had just closed, and they were not gonna open it back up for me cuz I was just a lowly economy flyer with no onward flight to catch.
So I was told to assault the BA people when they got back from the plane, which I did, and she (there was only one) was actually very cute and nice and booked me on the next flight without charging me for admin fees (cuz she didn't wanna open the till back up ), but that was only at 10.35 the next morning, so I would've missed my morning classes, and with this being my first day at college I thought that really wouldn't make a good impression.... and there was this airline that Serge had mentioned that does very cheap flights to London City.. and I saw on the departures board that there was one at 19.30, so I walked into their ticket office and ended up buying a ticket for that (1hr before departure, never done that before, how cool).
This meant considerable loss of time (3hrs) and money (£80) of course, and all because of me refusing to waste 20mins at our boring airport after boarding. Have I learnt my lesson? Yes I think I have.
[changeofsubject] One of the albums I ripped is the Farinelli - Il Castrato soundtrack. Not listened to it in ages, but oooooh is it amazingly sexy or what. Just as I fall in love with gay guys now - had I lived in the 17th/18th century, there isn't the slightest doubt I would've fallen in love with Castrati.
Aaah music. God it's shockingly late now. Let me tell you about my trip back, because for a change it was rather pleasant. Well, as much as trips can be. The DLR stop at London City seems to have opened very recently (for there were ads all over the place, incl. the plane) so I made it to London Bridge in a reasonable amount of time... the trains were empty... they were fast... I caught the train I wanted... so I hate London that tiny bit less now.
But in general train/plane/bus journeys are still rather boring. And they annoy the heck out of me. I've definitely had too many of them recently. I love being places, but I hate going places. I must sound like a right old spoilt brat now, lucky cow that I am to even be able to do all of this in the first place, and I should not complain about it. But I like to complain.
Anyway. So I have decided to stop travelling. Hm ok I haven't. I have to stop travelling because of college, but I will embrace it and make the most of it, and try not to fight it. I can find other ways of escaping.
Hm I could add more about this but I won't. For now. I still have said very little about Luxembourg uh? Well I just did the usual.... met up with a select few friends... went to see my horse a couple of times... did some essential shopping... made my mum do some laundry... and dyed my hair! Oh and had a horribly boring family dinner. Sorry, no pics after all. *lol*
Sorry to bring you depressing news, but I thought I'd let you know anyway... You are 176 times more likely to be murdered than to win the National Lottery. Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4566526.stm
Sorry
Ok, gonna read your entry now.
Um... thanks.

Yep, I said exactly the same thing on my last plane journey. Yours always seem really weird tho, probably because you never land in Gatwick.
Have you heard of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac?
PS. I want pics. Of traffic cone head, if poss.
Posted by: The BML on Mon January 9, 2006 at 14:21Ja @ Gatwick. That really really really sucks.
Johnny who?
OK @ pics.
Posted by: Clarissa on Mon January 9, 2006 at 17:48Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
He's a really cute little cartoon guy, popular among those kerazy goths. I just recently discovered him and am in love with him, he reminds me of Vincent. If you google him there's stuff on him online, he's a comic book character who is insane and kills people.
Anyway, yeah.
Is it not possible to fly Lux to Gatwick??
Posted by: The BML on Mon January 9, 2006 at 22:32Yes it IS. BA. Except if you miss your plane. Read my bloody entries wumman!
