The hat isn't absolutely necessary. In fact Jamie Leigh doesn't use it in many of her pictures. But for the JL beginner, it is a useful tool to accentuate the air of mystery and, well, the Jamie-Leigh-ness of the pictures. It can also hide your hair if it's very Jamie-Leigh-unlike. Any old hat will do: fedora, bowler hat (as displayed here), cowboy hat, or just a cap or something of that kind. It must be black of course. That's it! You're done! Now to the actual pics...
