Shitstorm in the Blogosphere

Posted at 23:32 under web & geekdom | 2 comments

This is pretty funny just for being so damn ridiculous…

And most threads/blog posts with comments above are still going strong. :)) (except the murky coffee one cuz he won’t approve any the twit). As so many people have said all over said comments - “it’s only coffee” - but it’s very entertaining to see how people can get so passionate worked up about something so trivial.

(Incidentally I had coffee at the weekend cuz I had one of my caffeine headaches again and tho I still found it unpleasant, I didn’t think it quite so strongly repulsive as previously)

PS Oh and thanks to this I learnt what a ghetto latte is. :))
PPS From the later explanatory comment added by the coffeeshop dude:

Thanks for all the comments and emails (for the record, about 40% supportive, 20% critical, and about 40% ignorant and ridiculous… but that’s the nature of the sandbox that we blog in, no?).

*lmao* I’ll bet the “ignorant and ridiculous” comments weren’t supportive. :))

Elyse Sewell rocks!

I don’t think I have previously mentioned her on here, so let me do so now: her Livejournal is a really great read and you should give it a try.

(she’s a model currently working mainly in Asia - HK, China, Korea… she’s really smart and cool and adventurous and a little bit crazy and has a great writing style and comes up with fun stuff and… well just go and see for yourself. no really! [wiki])

I know I know, a good theme shouldn’t need instructions and this one doesn’t really, either, but just a few notes maybe. And a few acknowledgments. *hehe* >>Read more

Anonymous vs Co$

Posted at 23:48 under web & geekdom | Comments Off

That Anonymous vs Co$ war (previously) is becoming more and more bizarre. (I don’t think I really believe the Co$ is behind this. it’s just too… random. probably some bored script kiddies. but then again - the Co$ would be crazy enough lol.)

Oh and btw read Rick Astley on the phenomenon of rickrolling - he doesn’t say anything deep but it’s kinda cool.

I’m back with new Windows btw. Still need more RAM tho so will get to that next.
I’m also back from Southampton where I had a good time and bought a number of things. And now I’m off to bed.

Summer-summer-summer-TIME!!!!

Colour me impressed

Posted at 15:43 under web & geekdom | 4 comments

(for some reason I wanna write colour American-style there. probably cuz of Color Me Badd)

Uploading a 4.5MB pdf of today’s NYT to your own server… accessing it via iPhone.. bingo! I totally expected Safari to crash. And contrary to my expectations I can close the browser and return to it without Safari insisting on reloading it. So I can even take it on the bus on my way to Homebase. :D Apparently emailing them to yourself is also a good way to do this.

(tho of course it would be even better if I could just upload pdfs to the iPhone directly, just like mp3s and photos. and yes yes I know Tobias, your HTC probably does all that. but it ain’t half as sexy as my iPhone!)
